Dr. Jinwah John Hoy is an experienced Seattle podiatrist, foot and ankle physician and surgeon. He is highly trained and has been in practice for 17 years.

Education. A Washington Scholar, Dr. Hoy completed his pre-medical studies at the University of Washington in Seattle through its Honors Program, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Cell and Molecular Biology in 1994.
Dr. Hoy graduated with his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco in 2000. He completed a hospital-based podiatric medical and reconstructive surgical residency in San Francisco and San Diego, California in 2002.
His residency was based at his medical school and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Francisco. He worked under some of the finest foot and ankle surgeons and other doctors of the University of California San Francisco/Stanford University Medical Center, San Francisco, and Kaiser Permanente, San Diego.
Licensed. Dr. Hoy has served patients in California, Texas, and Washington. He has been practicing in this Downtown office since 2004. He is licensed in the State of Washington as a Podiatric Physician and Surgeon.
Certified. Dr. Hoy is a Diplomate of both boards recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association. These certifications are from the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, granted in 2006 and recertified in 2015, and the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, with Board Certification in Foot Surgery, granted in 2007 and recertified in 2015. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of the American and Washington State Podiatric Medical Associations, having served on the latter’s Board of Trustees.

Teacher. Since 2005, Dr. Hoy has been a member of the Clinical Faculty of the University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine, as a Clinical Associate. He instructs residents of the Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine Residency Program. He has also worked with residents of the Swedish Podiatric Surgical Residency as an attending physician in surgery and in the wound healing center, with pre-medical students from the University, and on the Board of Advisors of a local allied health professions school.
Practice Administrator. A compliance professional and President of the practice, Dr. Hoy received his Certified Medical Manager credential by the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management, granted in 2012. He is also certified by American Institute of Healthcare Compliance as a Certified Healthcare Billing Specialist, granted in 2012, and a Certified Medical Collector, granted in 2013.

Dr. Hoy is married and lives in his childhood home on Beacon Hill in Seattle, where he cares for his mother.
